Cash awards are subject to a minimum of 150 registered participants in the respective distance.
If a distance does not reach this number, the corresponding awards may be given in kind: sponsor products, special kits, trophies or other items defined by the organisation.
A participant's age is their age on race day. The top three in each category are recognised with in-kind awards from Pijao Trail and its sponsors.
up to 39 years
Top 3 · In-kind40–49 years
Top 3 · In-kind50 years and over
Top 3 · In-kindEach category must have at least 30 registered participants per gender.
If that number is not reached, the organisation may merge the category with the nearest one, respecting the age and gender distribution where possible. Any adjustment will be communicated before the event.
The 5K Walkers is a recreational, non-competitive distance. For that reason there is no ranking by position and no cash awards.
All participants who complete the course receive their finisher medal, in recognition of having experienced Pijao Trail.

Awards are handed over during the official ceremony.
Participants who have won an award must be present at the ceremony to receive it.
If a participant knows in advance that they cannot attend, they must inform the organisation and receive confirmation of the procedure for later delivery.
If a participant does not attend the ceremony and has not informed the organisation in advance, the organisation understands that they waive the award. In that case:
it may not be transferred to another person or carried over to a future edition.
Prior notification must be made through the official Pijao Trail channels before the ceremony.
Provisional results for the competitive distances are published before the awards ceremony.
Once published, participants have 30 minutes to submit observations regarding:
application of the regulation.
Once observations have been addressed, the official results are published.
Claims must be submitted directly to the Pijao Trail Technical Committee within the established deadline. The participant must:
provide, where applicable, the evidence supporting their request.
Claims submitted after the 30-minute deadline are not considered for the official ranking or for the awards ceremony.
The Technical Committee's decision determines the official sporting result of the event, without prejudice to the rights legally available to the participant.
When two participants record exactly the same time, the organisation reviews:
available technical information.
If a technical tie remains after that review, the Technical Committee applies the criterion set out in the Official Pijao Trail 2027 Regulation.
Awards:
may be subject to any tax obligations legally applicable.
Overall and category awards are not cumulative, unless the organisation expressly communicates a different condition before the event.
Any necessary change in categories, awards, schedules or conditions is announced in advance through the official channels: pijaotrail.com.co and Instagram @pijaotrail.
